about

Another. Charlie sits with Ada in the back seat of a police cruiser. It is once again the night they first met, but this time the circumstances are different. They are under arrest for breaking into the mission tower in San Francisco. Ada had wanted to demonstrate something about the harmonic series of church bells. She was talking about medieval cosmological models based on the monochord. He didn’t quite follow it all, but her suggestion that they swing from the mission bells sounded wonderful.

Handcuffed, he misquoted poetry to her and she showed him a curious device that recorded brain activity and translated it into fuzzy guitar solos. They made out with their eyes. They were in love.

lyrics

drive slow black and white
shine a strobe through the night
drive slow hit the brights
drive slow black and white
drive slow

we close our eyes make a wish
she leans close to steal a kiss
we make out with our lives
drive slow black and white

oh here's a pedal, it says "fuzz"
i wonder what it does
oooh

drive slow black and white
you know i never get this right
but there's a poet that i like
he said drive slow into the night
drive slow black and white
into the night
into the good night
