My hope is that you will hear these recordings the way I hear them: as tiny windows through space and time into private—even accidental—performances.

All lead vocals and guitar were recorded simultaneously on one track of monophonic audio at 16kbps with an Apple iPhone 3GS. Tracks 1 and 12 include backing vocals recorded through a Sure SM7. Synth sounds on tracks 3, 5, 8 and 9 were recorded using soft synth patches in Apple’s Logic.

When you’re all alone With the dial tone Just call me up I’m all always home Singing sad songs For cell phones Yes I’m always home In the darkened room Where your shadow looms And the both of you Are feeling blue I sing a sad song For cell phones I sing a sad song For cell phones And I’m always home I sing sad songs For cell phones I sing sad songs For cell phones I sing sad songs I sing sad songs I sing sad songs And I’m always home

Hello Friends Pinned to black Dimly winking I’m blinking back What day is this? Is this my leg? The morning quiet Reminds me of snow days Barista- krishna-oh-la-lay-la-lay It must be cold in outer space And now the bean And now the pot And now the steam And now the shot And now the cream Which floats on top Barista- krishna -oh-la-dee-la-dah Oh caffeine how you fill my heart And the part of me which can play a part Will play Barista- krishna -oh-la-dee-la-dah And the part of me which plays a part Will play Barista-krishna-oh-la-dah-la-dah

May two make one And dipoles become As dell dot is naught As zeros sum At once at once May I know my will And not just haunt My haunted cells These arms each leg My head’s own heft Oh may it rest And wake refreshed

Forsaking our language How would we sing Of anguish As fruit seeds For gas masks So too we need To bear witness And I read the actuary’s tale I hate it And I found exactly what I feared So I named it Oh monsters Fictitious I name you I bear witness And I read the actuary’s tale I hate it I found exactly what I feared And I’ve named it I read the actuary’s tale I hate it I found exactly what I feared and I’ve named it
6.
We are parts of the best of all words Let’s remark on the mess of our births And our reward oooh the multiverse What is lost in our lives unobserved? What’s the cost of the thoughts we discern? And our reward the multiverse
7.
Look the orbs release their light As their hydrogen ignites And my love does wander by my side and sits with me tonight Oh our hearts are filled with love They are also with blood And our lungs our filled with a winter chill and also oxygen
8.
Lo! The unknowable approaches It holds no discernible form And our science is as our songs are A useful metaphor And we humans we look for patterns Patterns for that’s our flaw We’re flawed in that we’re fragments Of continuous, irreducible, infinite, beautiful, phenomena And though we’ve named apoptosis And we’ve named the graviton And we claim to know what folded time is In truth all metaphors are wrong And perhaps we’re all awaiting judgment Or perhaps we will repeat Perhaps we will be raptured Perhaps we’ll simply cease Perhaps whatever happens will be continuous, irreducible, infinite, beautiful, phenomena

Ms liberty strong to save Who’s given me an honest wage Who’s bidden the depression deep It’s own appointed limits keep O hear me when I cry to thee for our lost provisions And all the perils we face as a union

The red letter year has come to conclusion We both will adhere to new resolutions Each decision we reach leaves us new choices Each leg we complete brings new adventures so as you were my love my love and my co-pilot We’re beginning again, we’re relentless we are tireless As you were my love my love and my co-pilot We’re beginning again we’re relentless we are tireless
13.
Misery, you’re no match for me And I never leave a thing half complete The seminary it’ll wait a year We’re young, life’s long, and we’re needed here To put grades on tests, to put kids in desks To put up with their worst and expect their best So misery, you’re no match for me And my friend Cecilie

about

I know it’s easy enough to get music for free on the internet today, but music is worth paying for. Think about it. $5 is about about what you might pay for a burrito. When you buy a record from an artist on bandcamp you’re essentially telling the artist “Hey, good job, I support what you do, here’s a burrito.” If you enjoy our music that much, and I hope you do, please buy a record.
